Daniela Del Bene and Marta Conde
Wednesday 28th June, 15.00-17.00, UAB Campus
This workshop is intended to explore tensions between science and activism for politically and socially engaged researchers. We will focus on research and co-production of knowledge within studies in Environmental Justice and Conflicts.
We will ask questions such as “Can a scholar also be an activist in her/his field of research, and viceversa?”, “What does it mean for an academic to serve “activist” causes?”, “Who frames the agenda of activist research and how?”, “How to best co-produce knowledge within activist scholarship?”
We will look at real experiences to explore these tensions and draw significant lessons for our professional training and social engagement.
