Our Team

The Summer School team brings together a mix of educators, researchers, and activists, all driven by a passion for exploring alternative pathways to degrowth. Through collaborative learning and open dialogue, they cultivate an inspiring environment where new ideas and practices for a just future can take shape.

Eva 

Eva has a background in Psychology and Political Ecology, and she’s pursuing a second master’s degree in “Philosophy for Contemporary Challenges”. Her research interests lie at the intersection between ecofeminism, ruralities and degrowth. Besides working as operations coordinator at R&Di, she works at “La Gatera” coop, lives in a rural area, and grows her own food. She dreams of and works towards a wide-ranging food-system transformation that will finally respect all life on Earth.

Jana

Jana has a background in Geoecology, Cultural Studies and Political Philosophy. She is currently working as program coordinator of the Political Ecology, Degrowth & Environmental Justice Master at the Autonomous University of Barcelona and volunteering at Research & Degrowth. Jana is interested in feminism, climate justice, agroecology and anarchist ways of organizing.

Federico

Federico is part of the 11th Summer Schoool as a volunteer. He is also currently a student at ICTA-UAB for the Master in Political Ecology, Degrowth and Environmental Justice. He studied International Studies, with a specialization in China Studies, which he would like to explore in connection with post-growth politics. Federico is active in the Italian Degrowth Association and in the collective degrowth.info. He enjoys slow traveling, his favorite kind of trips are those that involve biking along a river – he will make sure to find one in Catalonia!

Isaura

Isaura is joining the team organizing the 11th Degrowth Summer School in Barcelona as a volunteer. Currently studying Political Ecology, Degrowth, and Environmental Justice at UAB, she is excited about becoming part of this project and about learning more about the city’s social movements connected to Degrowth. Isaura is interested in a variety of topics, ranging from eco-anarchism and ecofeminism to commons management, community governance, cinema, literature, and visual arts; the list goes on.

Alexandra 

Alexandra has a background in Ecological Economics and Photography. She is in charge of R&Di’s communication and the rest of the time you will find her working on her artistic projects. She loves interdisciplinarity and mixing her many different passions and insterests. Within her ever growing interests lie collective ways of organising, humans’ relationship with nature, ancestral knowledge, ecofeminism and art in its infinite forms. She dreams of a soft revolution.

Osin

Oisín is joining the 11th Degrowth School organisation team as a volunteer. He is currently studying the ICTA-UAB Master in Political Ecology, Degrowth and Environmental Justice. He has a background in political philosophy, psychology and statistics. He is interested in commoning, gardening, deliberative democracy, sharing food and music, and of course – biking around!

Bogna

Bogna is joining the 11th Degrowth School team as a volunteer. She has a background in activism, art, and cultural theory and is currently studying for the ICTA-UAB Master’s in Political Ecology, Degrowth, and Environmental Justice. Interested in ecofeminism, cooperatives, commoning, and food, she will ensure that during the Summer School, we nourish our minds, bodies, and souls.
